On August 12, 2022, Qingyi WANG, Secretary of the Party Committee of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU), Jingyan GAO, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and their delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, and Qin YE, Chief Financial Officer of SUSTech, welcomed the guests as they held exchanges on various topics.

Qingyi WANG praised the rapid development of SUSTech since its establishment and briefly introduced the history and current state of affairs of NCWU.

He noted as a new type of research university to reform China’s higher education, SUSTech has explored a new path to building a world-class university. He hopes both parties will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges in talent training, scientific research platforms, and other areas.

Through collaboration, Mr. WANG aims to learn from SUSTech and promote the development of NCWU as an innovative high-level university and a “Double First-Class” university.

Chairperson Fengliang LI discussed the progress of SUSTech in recent years and its development as a “Double First-Class” university through its innovative concepts and approaches, including its governance model, recruitment, talent training, scientific research, party building, and cultural construction.

He said NCWU has a long history and glorious tradition with distinctive disciplines. He hopes the two sides will strengthen cooperation in major scientific research projects, talent team construction, etc.

During their visit, Qingyi WANG and his delegation were also given a guided tour of the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements, the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center, Student Creative Center of Shude College, Zhicheng College, and Yidan Library.
