The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) recently announced the results of its centralized received applications in 2022.

The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) received funding for 260 projects, with approved funding of more than 152 million RMB, an increase of nearly 20 million RMB over the same period last year.

Up to now, SUSTech has received various funding projects in 2022, including 107 General Program projects, 127 Young Scientists Fund projects, six Key Program projects, five National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars projects, four Excellent Young Scientists Fund projects, seven Research Fund for International Young Scientists projects, and four projects of the International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Program.

Among them, SUSTech ranked first in Guangdong Province for the number of Distinguished Young Scholars projects, and the number of key projects has also increased significantly, reflecting the University’s important role in promoting the development of disciplines and breakthroughs in several key scientific fields.

Projects such as joint funds and major research projects are still in the review process and have not been included in this announcement.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China is an important foundation for cultivating scientific research teams and improving the level of scientific research. It is also an important indicator of SUSTech’s scientific research strength.
