The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), recently held a signing ceremony online for a strategic cooperation agreement between both parties.

Zhongmin LIU, Director of DICP, Yuqi JIN, Vice-Director of DICP and Secretary of the Party Committee, Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, Xueming YANG, Vice President of SUSTech, Hongwei FANG, Vice President and Provost, and other members of the University’s leadership team attended the signing ceremony.

In his remarks, President Qikun XUE said that SUSTech is building a world-class university in an all-around way, focusing on the strategic needs of regional and national development, and undertaking the responsibility of high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement.

Since its establishment, the DICP has cultivated a large number of top-notch innovative talents in the country, and has achieved a series of important scientific research results. As a scientific research institution with a long history and rich tradition, President XUE noted that SUSTech would benefit and learn greatly from the valuable experience DICP has accumulated in many areas.

He hopes the two sides will establish a new cooperation model regarding talent training and the joint construction of high-level scientific research platforms.

Zhongmin LIU acknowledged SUSTech’s scientific research achievements in recent years and briefly introduced the history and development of DICP.

He expressed his desire for both parties to use this strategic cooperation agreement as an opportunity to take advantage of each other’s expertise in various fields, accelerate the research of key core technologies, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the training, exchange, and sharing of high-level talents.

Qikun XUE and Zhongmin LIU signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of SUSTech and DICP.
