To enrich the life of the faculty members and students staying on campus and creating a festive atmosphere during the holiday period, on January 22, the first day of the Chinese New Year, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) organized the 2023 Spring Festival Garden Party.

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, attended the event and celebrated the new year with faculty members, students, staff, and their families.

The event was organized by the SUSTech Trade Union, with those in attendance able to enjoy a variety of interactive activities. They included lucky draw games, pedaling bicycles to generate electricity to make cotton candy, VR racing cars, traditional handicraft activities such as making lanterns and painting fans, and sampling traditional delicacies such as candied haw and sugar-coated figurines.

Thousands of guests participated in the garden party, with everyone noting that not only was a harmonious family atmosphere created throughout the day, but it also cultivated them as they learned and passed on traditional cultural customs.

During the Spring Festival, several departments and academies also organized a series of activities, including a special Chinese New Year dumpling-making activity, ensuring that everyone staying on campus during the festive period had a memorable experience.
