Between April 21-23, the 2022 Guangdong University Orienteering Championships, hosted by the Guangdong Student Sports Art Federation, was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen).

A total of 663 participants from 51 universities and colleges in Guangdong Province took part in the competition.

Eight members from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) participated in this year’s competition, and achieved great success by taking home multiple honors.

The competition comprised of five groups: Group AA, Group AB, Group BA, Group BB, and Group C, and was separated into four events: sprint race, points race, 100-meter race, and relay race.

SUSTech placed fourth in the overall standings. Xiang YI claimed first place in the men’s sprint race, Chenghao LU took second place in the men’s points race, Yue WU placed fourth in the men’s 100-meter race, Yihan SUN placed sixth in the men’s sprint race, and Letian YANG, Ruixi LIAO, and Yu YAO took fourth place in the women’s relay race.
