On January 12, invited by Professor Wu Chuanyue of SUSTC, the academician Zhan Qimin of Deputy Director of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences gave an academic lecture on cell cycle regulating and cancer forming and development, and the report was hosted by Professor Wu Chuanyue.

       The lecture started with “we have little knowledge about cancer”. Academician Zhan introduced hazards of cancer on human body and urgency and necessity to tackle cancer. After that, Academician Zhan introduced cell regulating mechanism and apparent heritage mechanism of cancer cell cycle, and instructed us to go beyond scientific research and treat scientific issue with dialectics in philosophy. Finally, Academician Zhan emphasized on importance of fundamental research in conversion medical science and industrial conversion.

     Teachers and students of SUSTC had the report, and discussed and communicated with Academician Zhan warmly.
