SUSTech’s Hongqiang WANG wins Xiong Youlun Zhihu Outstanding Young Scholar Award

From July 7 to 9, the 4th China Robotics Academic Annual Conference was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Hongqiang WANG, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), won the fifth Xiong Youlun Zhihu Outstanding Young Scholar Award.

Prof. WANG received his Ph.D. in Precision Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2015 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University from 2015 to 2018. He has been a faculty member at SUSTech since September 2018.

Over the years, he has focused on researching the basic mechanism model of electrostatic flexible actuators and their application technologies in multiple scenarios. He has achieved a series of achievements in materials, design methods, analysis theory, and application technology.

The Xiong Youlun Zhihu Outstanding Young Scholar Award was donated by Academician XIONG Youlun of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2018 to reward outstanding young scholars who have made outstanding contributions in robotics and related fields.

Since its establishment, a total of 15 scholars in the field of robotics have won the award until now.
