At the Annual Meeting of the Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS) held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, the recipients of the 2023 Fu Chengyi Youth Science and Technology Award were announced.
Kejie CHEN, Associate Professor of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), received the 2023 Fu Chengyi Youth Science and Technology Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in using space geodetic tools for earth science study.
Since joining SUSTech in 2019, Kejie CHEN has been teaching and carrying out scientific research, primarily in the application of geodesy for geophysics. He has published more than 40 academic papers in geoscience journals such as Nature Communications, Geophysical Research Letters, Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, has applied for more than ten soft books and patents, edited a monograph, and presided over several fund projects.
In August this year, Prof. CHEN was awarded the 13th Li Shanbang Youth Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award by the Seismological Society of China.
He has also been the recipient of various honors and awards, including the Ten Thousand Youth Talents Plan and the Young Talent Promotion project by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
The Fu Chengyi Youth Science and Technology Award was established by the CGS and is awarded annually to recognize young Chinese geophysicists who have carried out innovative work and have made outstanding achievements in the geophysics discipline in the past five years.
