On May 10, Prof. Wenhua LIU, Vice President of Shantou University, led a delegation visiting the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Hong JIANG, University Council Chairperson, and Prof. Jian LIN, Director of the Advanced Institute for Ocean Research at SUSTech, welcomed the guests and engaged in exchanges.

During the meeting, Prof. Jian LIN provided a brief introduction of the ongoing scientific research at the Advanced Institute for Ocean Research at SUSTech, along with an update on the preparatory progress of Shenzhen Ocean University. Furthermore, plans for international collaboration were also discussed.

Prof. Wenhua LIU expressed anticipation for deeper collaboration between Shantou University and SUSTech in the areas of ocean science, technology, and applications. He emphasized the importance of combining the academic strengths and geographic uniqueness of two universities, fostering on educating high-caliber science talents.

Both parties engaged in detailed discussions regarding cooperation in marine scientific research, the recruitment and training of high-level talents, the development of leading disciplines, the establishment of key research initiatives, and the fostering of international cooperation and academic exchanges.
