On October 17, Jianling XU, President of Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU), led a delegation to visit the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) for exchanges.

Hong JIANG, University Council Chairperson, and Ling ZHANG, University Council Vice-Chairperson, along with heads of related departments, engaged in discussions with the visiting delegation.

Chairperson Hong JIANG expressed her appreciation to Jianling XU for his long-term support in the construction and development of SUSTech. She provided insights into the advancement of new liberal arts, integrated circuit programs, talent training models, and reforms in practical teaching at SUSTech.

She emphasized that both SZPU and SUSTech exemplify the advancement of higher education in Shenzhen and expressed her hope for strengthened collaboration between the two parties to further contribute to the region’s educational landscape.

President Jianling XU acknowledged the rapid development of SUSTech and provided an overview of the development of SZPU. He remarked that SUSTech represents a remarkable achievement in the history of higher education in China and expressed his honor to be able to participate in the establishment of the University.

Looking ahead, President XU expressed a desire for both institutions to enhance cooperation, learn from SUSTech’s excellent practices, and develop new ideas that are in line with the distinctive features of vocational education, thereby establishing a trajectory for the progression of the vocational education with Chinese features.

During the visit, Jianling XU and his delegation toured several key facilities at the University, including the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements, the School of Microelectronics, and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
