On September 10 2017, a meeting for the university’s alumni was held in Shuren Residential College’s activities room on the SUSTech Campus. Vice-Chairperson of the University Council and Executive Vice President of the Alumni Association Li Fengliang attended the meeting.
This past spring, the SUSTech Alumni Association launched its first council meeting, offering to tutor students. The effort was successful, with a steady stream of students seeking tutoring assistance. Now, with the generous support of donors and the university adminstration, the association will formally begin the fall semester with additional student services.
Li announced his full support for the work of the Alumni Association, and said he hoped that the alumni would maintain a strong relationship with SUSTech and that the association can become a platform for promoting innovative ideas and networking with one another.
The alumni representatives in turn expressed their commitment and concern for the development of SUSTech.
Alumni representatives gave a speech on how to study and prepare for a professional career, make a development plan and other issues which provided students with useful insight on how to approach their time at SUSTech and prepare for their future.
At the meeting, Li Fengliang issued a letter of appointment to the first alumni.
