From March 26 to 27, Hong Jiang, University Council Chairperson of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), led a delegation to Macau to strengthen ties with local universities.
The visit focused on deepening collaboration between SUSTech and institutions in Macau, advancing scientific and technological innovation and talent development.
Chairperson Hong Jiang and her delegation met with Yonghua Song, Rector of the University of Macau (UM). Rector Song provided an overview of UM’s latest research achievements and academic development plans.
In her remarks, Chairperson Jiang expressed gratitude for UM’s longstanding support since SUSTech’s establishment. She emphasized the importance of leveraging the strengths of both institutions to build a comprehensive, mutually beneficial partnership. She also highlighted their shared commitment to advancing scientific research in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aligning with national strategic goals, and cultivating high-level innovative talent with global competence.
The following day, the SUSTech delegation was invited to attend the 25th anniversary celebration ceremony for the conferment of honorary doctoral degrees of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).
During their trip, Chairperson Jiang and her delegation also visited the Macau Millennium College and the Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, where they explored opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as expanded cooperation in medical education and research.
