From August 19 to 22, the national finals of the 13th National University Students’ Opt-Sci-Tech Competition took place at Zhejiang University.
With support from Dimensiob-labs, five undergraduate teams from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech)—including one student majoring in Biomedical Engineering—represented the University in the finals.
Two of these teams earned first prizes at the regional competition and advanced to the national finals, where both secured national first prizes. Another team that won a regional first prize went on to claim the national third prize.
SUSTech received the Outstanding Organization Award at both the regional and national finals. Additionally, faculty members Linlin XU and Longqing CONG were honored with the Outstanding Advisor Award at both levels for their guidance and support.

Organized by the Chinese Optical Society and overseen by the National University Students’ Opt-Sci-Tech Competition Committee, this is the largest and most prestigious competition in the field of optoelectronics in China. It provides an important platform for students to exchange knowledge and showcase their skills, while serving as a bridge for collaboration between industry, academia, and research in the field.
