On the evening of December 21, 2025, the Southern University of Science and Technology Alumni Association (SUSTechAA) Philharmonic Club “Mingde Rixin” 2026 New Year Concert was held in the concert hall on the first floor of the Conference Center. Professor Jiansheng DAI, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, and Director of the SUSTech Institute of Robotics Research, Professor Qiang XU, Fellow of the Engineering Academy of Japan, Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, and Chair Professor of the Department of Chemistry, along with heads of relevant departments and hundreds of faculty, students, and alumni, attended the event to enjoy this winter music celebration together.

The concert featured a rich and diverse program, including newly arranged performances of classic Chinese-style pieces and popular hits, as well as suites from world-famous musicals, opera excerpts, and classical instrumental concertos. It balanced artistic expressiveness with stylistic variety, with the atmosphere building progressively along with the rhythm of the pieces. The finale, “Sail for Science,” was written and composed by Academician Jiansheng DAI. This piece, created specifically for the members of SUSTech, embodies their spirit of hard work and patriotic sentiment, resonating deeply with students, faculty, and alumni alike.
