Clarivate Analytics recently released its list of 2025 Highly Cited Researchers. A total of 14 scholars from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) were listed. Among them, five were recognized in four distinct Essential Science Indicators (ESI) fields, namely Mathematics, Computer Science, Environment and Ecology, and Geosciences. Additionally, nine scholars were named in the Cross-Field category.

List of selected researchers and their respective disciplines

The Highly Cited Researchers list is an annual publication by Clarivate Analytics, aimed at identifying top scientists across academic institutions, research organizations, and commercial enterprises who have made substantial contributions to their fields.

First introduced in 2001, the list has been published annually since 2014. The 2025 edition is based on data from highly cited papers published between 2014 and 2024, and the rankings reflect citation counts in the Web of Science™.

To be included, researchers must have consistently published influential work over the past decade, placing them in the top 1% of their field based on citation impact.
