The SUSTech Rowing Team wins medals at the 2026 Hong Kong Indoor Rowing Championships & Charity Rowathon

On March 15, the 2026 Hong Kong Indoor Rowing Championships and Charity Rowathon came to a successful conclusion, with the SUSTech Rowing Team winning two bronze medals.

This event was organized by the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association and funded by the Arts and Sports Development Fund of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. It brought together representative teams from universities such as the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as well as several rowing clubs with professional backgrounds. Under the guidance of Coach Guoxiong QIU from the Sports Center, six members of SUSTech rowing team participated in individual events and team relay competitions.

In the men’s 20-29 age group 2000m open event, Lingxuan MENG won the bronze medal with a time of 6 minutes 27.8 seconds, demonstrating enduring stamina and steady performance; in the 4×500m open relay events, the relay team composed of Ruogu YANG, Mengmeng ZHANG, Tiancheng LUAN, Zidong XI, and Xianqi MENG won the bronze medal with a time of 6 minutes 37.9 seconds, thanks to excellent rhythm control and team spirit.
