Expert Committee on Industrial Software Talent Training of Guangdong Province Visits SUSTech for Research

On April 7, 2026, Xiaofei XU, Director of the Expert Committee on Industrial Software Talent Training of Guangdong Province and Former Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology as well as Former President of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Weihai; Xueying YAO, Deputy Director and Secretary-General, and former Vice President of HIT Shenzhen, and Hongwei MA, Deputy Director and President of Dongguan University of Technology, along with a delegation of seven people, visited SUSTech to conduct research and inspect the pilot work of industrial software talent training. Wensheng YAO, the University Council Vice-Chairperson, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Supervision Commissioner, Director of the Institute for Integrity at SUSTech, along with heads of relevant departments and schools, met with the delegation.

At the seminar, Wensheng YAO, on behalf of the university, expressed a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the expert group for their visit. He stated that industrial software is the core support for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry and a key foundation for the country’s development of new quality productive forces. SUSTech focuses on cultivating talent in industrial software as a key direction for discipline development and talent training, actively responding to the strategic deployments of the nation and Guangdong Province, and striving to build an interdisciplinary, industry-education integrated industrial software talent training system.

Hao YU, Deputy Dean of the SUSTech School of Microelectronics and the project leader, reported on the university’s Industrial Software Talent Training Pilot Program.

The expert group fully recognized the preliminary achievements of SUSTech in the pilot work of industrial software talent training and provided opinions and suggestions on talent training models and deep school-enterprise cooperation.

The expert group also visited the university’s achievement exhibition hall, the visualization platform classroom, the supercomputing center, and other teaching and research platforms.
