On June 28, the second leg of the Fifth Rowing League of the Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities & Institutes, themed “One Oar, One Heart, Rowing Together with the World,” was held at the Dasha River Ecological Corridor in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Rowing Team won second place in the Expert Group Men’s Eight with Coxswain and third place in the Women’s Eight with Coxswain, among other great results.

This event specially invited rowing teams from universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, the University of Sydney, the University of Hong Kong, Macau University of Science and Technology, as well as joint teams from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. SUSTech’s rowing team fought hard and achieved excellent results. They took fourth place in the Men’s Eight with Coxswain, third place in the Women’s Eight with Coxswain, sixth place in the Mixed Eight with Coxswain, and second place in the Expert Eight with Coxswain.

This event used rowing as a bridge to connect and exchange experiences between domestic and international universities. SUSTech’s rowers faced strong opponents both at home and abroad. Especially when competing alongside the Cambridge University rowing team, they maintained a spirited fighting attitude, responding with a perfectly synchronized rowing rhythm and seamless teamwork, showcasing the great spirit and style of our teachers and students.
