On October 11, 2017, the 2017 Student Scholarship Review Conference was held in the Activities Room of Shuren Residential College. Director of the Residential Colleges Han Wei, professor representatives, student representatives and other members of the evaluation committee were present to participate in the meeting.
The meeting announced the results for the the national scholarship winners, the national inspirational scholarships, as well as various national grants, college students start-up scholarships, outstanding student scholarships and so on. Among them, the national scholarship selection attracted many students as it is the most important. The selection process was great fun, showcasing the candidates fantastic GPA, valuable scientific research results, colorful campus life, and witty answers to the questions which were greeted with rounds of applause.
Nan Bo, Shi Yang, Yu Sicen, Luo Xia, Wang Siting were among five students who were awarded the 2017 national scholarship. The full list of winners will be published on October 12.
In 2017, SUSTech’s scholarships total amount reached 6.466 million yuan, and shared among a total of 1722 people. Among them, 5 received the National Scholarship, 87 won the National Inspirational Scholarship, 466 received the college students start-up scholarships, 772 received outstanding students scholarships, and 385 received state grants.
