On March 27, 2015, SZMMA University Visit – to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering was successfully held in SUSTC. 40 Enterprise leaders of over 30 companies from SZ BYD, SZ SLET, SZ BTR, SZ BAK, SZ HTMT, SZ SENIOR, AIG etc. attended this activity and visited the laboratories of MSE.

Qinzheng, vice-president addressed the meeting. Chenshou, President of SZMMA, welcomed the speech. Professor Cheng Xin, the Director of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, presided over the forum and introduced the school-running and development situations as well as the Department’s scientific research situation. Professor Xu Baomin, professor Tian Yanqing, associate professor Guo Xugang, Liang Yongye, Lu Zhouguang, Tang Bin, Tian Leilei, Yu Peng, Assistant professor Ren Fuzeng and Tang Yuanyuan attended the forum.

Qinzheng, vice-president said that Shenzhen’s rapid economic development fully reveals the prospect of new material industry. SUSTC encourage and support industry-university-research cooperation of every department and welcome various enterprises to carry on cooperation and communication etc.

Chen shou introduced the main functions and development planning of SZMMA and expressed to bring more opportunities to the future of cooperation among SZMMA, enterprises and universities.

Professor Cheng Xin welcomed the visiting research leaders, and introduced the founded time, faculty, staff, research direction and subject condition and future development key of MSE. He pointed out that SUSTC was aimed to be a high level research university, SUSTC provided superior innovation environment to the development of various disciplines. 

Professor Cheng Xin expected MSE and high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen would explore various cooperation ways and modes in educating students, resource sharing, corporate donation etc.

After the seminar, each enterprise investigator, divided into three groups, under the guidance of professor Cheng Xin, associate professor Guo Xugang and associate professor Tang Bin, visited MSE’s scientific research and teaching laboratories. Three professors visually explained in detail about the laboratory built, scientific achievements and laboratory equipments etc. Each enterprise investigator talked deeply with professors. The activity had achieved a great success. After the activity, more than ten enterprises expressed the wish to build student practice bases for SUSTC.
