From September 12th, 2015 to September 13th, 2015, the second Chinese Human Proteome Organization (CNHUPO) Youth Scholar’s Symposium was convened in the Lecture Hall of the first Scientific Research Building. This conference invited over 100 excellent young and middle-aged experts and 15 senior experts worked on the research related to proteomics from several universities and scientific research institutions in inland and Hong Kong. It conducted deep discussion and communication regarding topics like micro-proteomics, modifying proteomics, omics data analysis and multi-omics data integration and the application of proteomics in the discovery of brain science and biomarker etc.. The conference was organized by the research group of Associate Professor Tian Ruijun from the Department of Chemistry of SUSTC.
The Opening Ceremony of the conference on the morning of September 12th was chaired by Xu Ping, Secretary-general of CNHUPO and Researcher of Beijing Proteome Research Center, in which Professor Yang Pengyuan, Director-general of CNHUPO and Executive Director of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of Fudan University, Jiang Yuyang, Vice-director of Shenzhen NPC Standing Committee and Professor of Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University, and Professor Wu Chuanyue, Vice-president of SUSTC gave a welcoming speech successively.

Background:
CNHUPO is the largest academic organization engaging in the research of protein system level in China, the honored director-general of which is Academician He Fuchu, Dean of Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and the director-general is Yang Pengyuan, Professor of Fudan University. Since it has been founded for more than ten years, it holds a national proteomics conference with a scale of 2000-3000 people biennially, and has organized several major scientific plans like Project “Phoenix” and “Chinese Human Proteome Project (CNHPP)” key special project and so on. Under the proposal of CNHUPO, it established the CNHUPO Youth Scholar’s Symposium in October 2014 and held the first CNHUPO Youth Scholar’s Symposium in Xiangshan, Beijing.
