—— Founding Conference of Youth League of Shude College Successfully Ended
In the night of September 29, 2015, the Founding Conference of Youth League of SUSTC Shude College was successfully held in the Classroom 505 of No.1 Teaching Building. Five students of the first session of Shude College were elected as the members of the Youth League.
The distinguished guests attending this conference included Yang Zaiyong (vice-director of the administrative), counselor Ma Ying of Shude College, working staff of school Youth League Committee, and league cadres of each class. Counselor Ma Ying presided over the meeting.
At the beginning, Li Zengyi, membership of the school Youth League Committee, read out the election method and published the candidates. This time the election adopted the secret ballot system. All the participants (except the counting persons) had the right to vote and waive for the 9 candidates – Ma Ying (teacher), Shen Yizuo, Yang Jie, Li Yumin, Zhang Bin, Zhong Wenshao, He Linjun, Gao Jishu and Huang Danni. All the candidates were recommended by their counselors of each class.
Later vote began. All the students and teachers present voted their holy tickets. And the working staff at the conference collected the tickets and completed the counting job under the public’s supervision.
In the counting, Teacher Yang Zaiyong delivered the speech. As a member working for the school Youth League Committee, he expressed his and the students’ expectation – “shouldering responsibilities and missions”. He quoted the state leaders, school presidents and himself as the example to admonish the students that the construction of college needs everybody’s support and efforts, hoping everybody could take part in the school and college construction on behalf of a constructor. Meanwhile, Teacher Yang gave explanations to some questions about why Shude College didn’t develop the activity in the Mid-autumn Day. He believed, with the establishment of construction team and organization of Shude College, the activities in the future would become richer.
Then the working staff of the conference published the election results, with Ma Ying (Teacher), Li Yumin, He Linjun, Gao Jishu, and Huang Danni being elected as membership of the Youth League of Shude College.
After the election, Teacher Yang and Teacher Ma made discussions and exchanges with the students over the questions concerned. They expressed the college welcome all the students taking part in the college’s activity planing and cultural construction, and hoped every student could participate in the campus construction and come up with constructive ideas for college development.
The conference ended in a good atmosphere. This signified that the newly-established Shude College had become the first college owning its Students Union and Youth League. At the same time, it also meant that we, as the constructors, need to shoulder responsibilities and missions, and face tomorrow together.
