On the afternoon of May 10, the Vice Director-General of Guangdong Province Human Resources and Social Security (GDHRSS) Zhou Cheng led a delegation to visit SUSTech. University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong welcomed the delegation and attended a meeting with them.

At the meeting, Guo expressed her gratitude towards the Guangdong Provincial Government, GDHRSS and other provincial departments for helping SUSTech in its recent approval for being permitted to award doctoral degrees. She also introduced recent developments at SUSTech, including CPC building work, human resources policies, management system, campus construction and research innovation.

Zhou Cheng fully acknowledged the achievements SUSTech has made so far by saying innovation is the motivation and source of SUSTech, a high-level science and technology university in China’s most innovative city. Zhou also hopes that SUSTech can keep the pace with the times and foster all-around, innovative and patriotic talents.

Representatives from Shenzhen Municipality Human Resources and Social Security, SUSTech Human Resources Office, and SUSTech Office of Students Affairs also attended the meeting and made reports. Student representatives shared their campus life experience at the meeting as well.
