From May 24 to 27, the Convention and Exhibition Center of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province was the venue for the Second Scientific and Technological Achievement Fair for Chinese Universities. Three SUSTech projects were presented at the fair, attracting considerable attention from university and enterprise representatives.
Professor Yao Xin’s team from the Department of Computer Science presented a project on the Development and Industrialization of the New Generation of Intelligent Logistics Network Service Platform. Professor Zhai Jixian’s team showed their project, “Application of single chromosome sequencing and recombinant detection technology in high precision DNA comparison,” and the final project was the “Hummingbird” SK-1 Advanced Manned Spacecraft, which was co-developed by SUSTech and Shenzhen Chuangyitong Technologies Co., Ltd. These projects were managed by SUSTech Technology Transfer Center, which received “Best Management Award” at the fair.
Focusing on intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, new materials, petrochemical engineering, the fair was organized by China’s Ministry of Education (MOE), Guangdong Provincial Government (GDG), and the People’s Government of Huizhou Municipality. Vice Minister of Education Du Zhanyuan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Huang Ningsheng and over 800 other representatives attended the opening ceremony.
Representatives from 350 top universities at home and abroad brought more than 10,000 scientific projects for presentation and exchange. The others are from enterprises, who are looking to make a deal with universities with outstanding projects and establish collaborative ties on production, learning, and research. Organizers and participants of the fair believe that the fair will help integrate industry and research to a great extent.
