Students Come 2nd & 3rd in “Physical Design Competition among Undergraduates of Guangdong Province”

       The contest – “The 14th Physical Design Competition among Undergraduate of Guangdong Province and the 3rd Physics Experiment Teaching Seminar of Guangdong Province” is organized by the Guangdong Physics Society, and hosted by Faculty of Science and the Public Experimental Teaching Center of South China Agricultural University in Oct.19-20, 2013 at the South China Agricultural University.

       The final round includes 1 application problem and 1 basic problem, with the subject – “measuring small changes in fluid pressure” and ” experiment design based on the ‘listen to the light’physical principle”, respectively. There were more than 560 students of 136 teams from 20 universities and colleges of the province enrolled in the contest. After the preliminary selection, a total of 62 participating teams with nearly 300 students went into the finalists, including basic problems – 32 teams, and application problems – 30 teams.

       2 teams of SUSTC participated in the final round- one team, who won the Second Prize finally, was formed by Wang Jiale, Yang Siyuan, Zhang Junqiu and Tong Xiao, their subject was “design and results analysis of photoacoustic phenomenon demonstrate instrument”; the other team included Li Rongpeng, Shen Liuhang and Gao Ziang, with the subject “tiny pressure measurement based on strain gauge pressure”, and they won the Third Prize. Our school won the”Organization Award”.
