The weekend of October 27th and 28th saw the first fixtures of the 4th Annual College Cup, a football tournament between the six residential colleges on campus.

Saturday 27th October saw Zhixin College defeat Zhicheng College 2-nil while heavyweights Shude College handed Zhiren College a 4-nil drubbing.

Sunday 28th October was another gorgeous day in Shenzhen. Zhixin College, resplendent in their Peppa Pig-inspired kit, took on Shuli College who was wearing an outfit reminiscent of German club Borussia Dortmund. In a back and forth affair, Zhixin College finished the game 2-nil winners and will top Group A. Zhicheng College will play Shuli College on November 18th for the final playoff spot for Group A.

The second game of Sunday afternoon saw what casual observers would have thought of as a Manchester derby. Zhiren College was wearing a kit similar to Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, while their cross-campus rivals Shuren College were wearing kits that would not have looked out of place at Manchester United. This latter game was a high scoring affair, with Shuren College winning the game, 4 goals to nil. Highlights of this fixture came from dead-ball specialist Kevin Tu, who scored two stunning goals from set pieces that lit up the crowd.

Sunday, November 18th will decide the semi-finalists, with Zhicheng College playing Shuli College at 1:30pm, and Shuren College taking on Shude College at 3:30pm. This latter fixture will determine which team tops the group and which team will face Zhixin College in the semi-finals the following weekend.

The semifinals will take place on the 24th and 25th of November at 3:30pm. The 3rd place playoff will happen on Saturday, December 1st at 9am, followed by the final at 3pm.
