A government research team led by Director Zhou Zhongfei from the Talents Bureau came to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) to research SUSTech’s work. They heard reports from SUSTech President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Tang Tao and University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang. They were accompanied by senior leaders of the Guangdong Provincial and Shenzhen Municipal Committees, as well as representatives from the Talents Bureau.
Zhou Zhongfei’s delegation first visited the 3D campus construction sand table, where they learned about the future plans and development for SUSTech. They then had an intensive discussion.
Chen Shiyi welcomed the research team. He said that in recent years, the talent pipeline at SUSTech has benefited from the Talent Bureau’s plan. Shenzhen is an innovation city driven by innovation and SUSTech is an innovative university with talent development as its core. The school will continue to carry forward the spirit of creating a school of “daring to try, seeking truth and pragmatism, reforming and innovating, and pursuing excellence.” It would continue to strive for a world-class university, rooted in China. Both Tang Tao and Li Fengliang presented reports after Chen Shiyi.
After listening to the reports, Zhou Zhongfei expressed the hope that SUSTech would continue to innovate and ensure that the talent pipeline would remain full of high-quality candidates. The Talents Bureau would continue to support SUSTech’s innovative talent work and the improvements therein. The Talents Bureau would also assist SUSTech in implementing a more efficient policy in increasing the talent pipeline.
Following the discussion, the delegation went to the library to see the exhibition dedicated to the deed of the father of Chinese aerospace, Qian Xuesen. They also visited the National Pride Exhibition at the Lakeside Residential College.
