Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was the host venue for the 1st International conference on vibration and energy harvesting application (VEH 2018). More than 100 experts and scholars gathered at SUSTech to discuss the latest research on vibration energy collection.
SUSTech’s Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was the organizer of the Conference, which was supported by Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi’an Jiaotong University. At the opening ceremony of the conference, Prof. Wang Quan, Academician and Executive Deputy Dean of SUSTech’s Graduate School, introduced SUSTech’s development to the delegates. Head of Department Prof. Sun Xiaowei talked about the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Associate Professor Wang Fei served as joint chairperson with Professor Zhang Wenming from Shanghai Jiaotong University and Professor Cao Junyi from Xi’an Jiaotong University. Keynote speeches were given by academics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Tokyo, Virginia Tech and SUSTech. During the conference, theoretical research and applications were discussed in energy harvesting. They also talked about the applications of flexible membrane application and methods for realizing wide-frequency energy harvesting.
More than 100 people from 38 institutions attended the conference. Attendees came from prestigious institutions such as Virginia Tech, University of Tokyo, Sapienza University of Rome, Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Northwestern Polytechnical University attended the meeting.
