Numerous scholars and experts in AI from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area attended the Workshop.

Last week saw the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) work with its Institute of Artificial Intelligence, the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Computational Intelligence and the Guangdong Provincial Laboratory of Evolutionary Intelligent Systems to hold the Great Bay Area AI Workshop. Numerous scholars and experts in AI from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area attended the Workshop.

Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Yao Xin welcomed everyone to the workshop. He said that SUSTech’s Computer Science and Engineering Department is at the heart of the country’s strategic opportunities that are based in Shenzhen, the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Department wants to conduct more academic exchanges with universities across Hong Kong and Macao. They want to promote scientific and technological innovation across the region to create a talent highland.

Senior professors from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Macau University, City University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen University, University of Hong Kong and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made high-level academic reports about AI.

The Workshop also discussed topics such as joint training of doctoral students.
