SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang and College of Engineering Dean Xu Zhenghe met with the guests.

Last week saw Dean Elizabeth Croft of the Faculty of Engineering from Australia’s Monash University visit Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang and College of Engineering Dean Xu Zhenghe met with the guests.

Teng Jinguang welcomed the visit of Elizabeth Croft and her delegation. He introduced SUSTech to the delegation, including the strengths of our faculty, scientific research, and the resource advantages of the Greater Bay Area. He also sought to enhance communications with the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University. Teng Jinguang focused on cooperation around training projects and scientific research. Dean Xu Zhenghe spoke about SUSTech’s industry-university cooperation resources. Both sides held intense discussions about student training and cooperation for scientific research.

Once the meeting concluded, the delegation visited the 3D campus construction sand table, Materials Characterization and Preparation Center (MCPC), and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center. They also went to the Quantum Dot and Advanced Display Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and the Robotics Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering.

Associate Dean Wang Huanting of Faculty of Engineering at Monash University joined the delegation and was joined by the senior leaders from different departments across SUSTech.

Monash University was founded in 1958 and is a member of the G8 of Australia’s eight prestigious universities. Monash University is composed of ten departments and has 100 research centers including the Australian Hepatocyte Center and 17 cooperative research institutes. It is an important research institution in Australia.
