In the evening of October 19, 2015, thePostgraduate Enrollment Kick-off Conference of SUSTC was grandly held at thereport hall of No.1 Scientific Research Building. The conference introducedworking progress of postgraduates, and detailed joint training program andapplication progress. The President Chen Shiyi, the Vice President Tang Tao,principals of departments and colleges and principals of involving departmentsattended the conference.

Since foundation of the PostgraduateSchool of the University, SUSTC has made achievements at postgraduate working.It has established with domestic Peking University and Harbin Institute ofTechnology and overseas University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University ofScience and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, Temple University ofAmerica, the University of Macau and National University of Singapore to trainpostgraduates jointly.

The President Chen Shiyi Addressed at the Conference

The President ChenShiyi addressed at the Conference. He pointed out that, SUSTCwas a 3-in-1university with research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Of them, researchwas a primary concern of building research-based university, and solving thepostgraduate issue was a core issue. Based on doing research well, we shouldencourage diverse development. Next, the University would issue policies oninnovation and entrepreneurship.

The Vice President Tang Tao Addressed at the Conference

The Vice President Tang Tao thankedarrival of teachers and students, and introduced joint training program withdomestic and overseas universities. The Director Wang Yang of the PostgraduateSchool explained process for program application. The Conference provided a Q&A link for one hour and a half, and in-school undergraduate, research assistantand out-of-school personnel questioned majors, graduation and assessmentstandards, and the President Chen Shiyi and the Vice President Tang Tao andteachers of the Postgraduate School answered questions raised by students.
