December 18^th saw Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) arrange a viewing session for the live broadcast of conference celebrating 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up of the People’s Republic of China. Many faculty members, students, and senior leaders attended the viewing session. University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi, were joined by other senior leaders, while other viewing sessions took place at other places around campus.

The faculty members, leaders, and students said that they developed a better understanding of China’s development and with that, the development of SUSTech. SUSTech’s development is deeply embedded within the spirit of higher education reform.

2016 undergraduate Zheng Jintao praised the 100 reform pioneers who were commended in the Great Hall of the People earlier today. Their position as role models will provide people with the opportunity to draw spiritual strength to carry forward the spirit of reform in this new era.
