December 25th saw the Party Committee of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hold a series of meetings about internal governance. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong presided over the meeting. Various leading members of the Party Committee attended the meeting, including University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, Secretary-General Chen Siqi, Director of the Office of Communications and Public Relations Zhang Ling, and Director of the Office of Human Resources Chen Zhifeng.
In one of her speeches, Guo Yurong pointed out that this work is an important symbol of SUSTech’s development, an important part of the school’s party building work, and an important measure for SUSTech to achieve the goal of “building a world-class research university, rooted in China.” She said that it is necessary to support the teachers and students, fully combine the advantages of “all-around leadership of the party + modern university governance” and retain core competition. Through the effective strengthening of the college leadership and decision-making mechanisms, SUSTech can formulate detailed rules of procedure according to the system documents, and participate in the decision-making work of important matters of all departments.
