At 7: 00 P.M. on June 6, the Department of Material Science and Engineering held a major introduction conference in Classroom 107, No.1 Teaching Building, and Professor Cheng Xin hosted and lectured at the major introduction professor. Associate Professor Cheng Chun, Associate Professor Guo Xugang, Associate Professor He Zhubing, Associate Professor Lu Zhouguang, Associate Professor Sun Dazhi and Associate Professor Yu Peng of the Department of Material, and some students of Grade 2012, Grade 2013 and Grade 2014 with total number of about 110 persons attended the conference.

Teacher Cheng Xin introduced basic information and main majors to be developed, course setting, teaching features, basic information of fundamental teaching laboratory of the Department of Material, and introduced research fields of teachers of the Department of Material. In the later Q& A, Teacher Cheng Xin answered questions given by the students. After the conference, the teachers and student team members had a face-to-face communication to make students understand the Department of Materials and the major of material science and engineering.
