On January 12, invited by professor Wu Chuanyue of South University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Cheng Tao, serving Hematology Research Institute of Chinese Academy came to SUSTC for academic communication, delivered an academic report on biological fundamentals and challenges of stem cell treatment, and the report was hosted by Professor Wu Chuanyue.

The lecture started with “relations of stem cell regeneration and cancer cell death”. Professor Cheng introduced differences among embryo stem cell, inductive multipotential stem cells and adult stem cell and advantages and disadvantages of clinic application. Subsequently, in terms of cell cycle inhibition, it revealed partial molecular fundamental of tranquilization status, efficiency, self-renewal, differentiation, senility and re-programming. He described development of stem cell in regeneration transplantation field and prosperous application and challenges, and proposed solutions.

     Teachers and students of SUSTC had the report, and discussed and communicated with Professor Cheng warmly.
