Chen Shiyi conveyed bless for Teachers’ Day for teachers in site, and said “it is honor to be teachers, congratulations”.

He said, “from my college life, my dream is to be a teacher. Why? My father and mother are teachers, and I am from a family of education. Starting from teachers in rural area to teachers of senior high school, the teacher is my lifelong pursuit”/

Chen Shiy shared interesting things in teaching with the teachers: “in the time, I acted as teacher in rural area to teach a compound class. The compound class referred to students of several grades having lessons simultaneously. Firstly, assigned homework to students Grades 2 and 3, and then gave lessons to students of Grade 1. Then I acted as teacher of senior high school, and I also taught the art class, composing, and taught for mathematics, physics and chemistry”.

Subsequently, the teachers shared inspirations and suggestions for the University.

 Wu Chuanyue also released inspirations for Teachers’ Day. He recalled deeply, “Probably, I ever served all kinds of schools, such as primary school, middle school, technical school, Chinese school, American school, then back to SUSTC-the innovative and reforming college! The Vice President Wu thanked the teachers’ coming to SUSTC, worked hard for SUSTC, and wished all teachers work smoothly and live happily.

 The Vice President Wu also said, “we are so pleased with so many excellent students’ choosing SUSTC and also shoulder heavy duties. I hope that, the parents feel worthy of the college life 4 years, and I will not regret.” With this opportunity, the President Wu hoped that: “In daily teaching, if all the teachers can remind of the lovely students and parents’ expectations, and the teaching of SUSTC must stand out!”

 Finally, Chen Shiyi concluded this symposium, from newly married teachers to the venerable predecessors, as well as administration secretary speaking Russian, and the statements by teachers were moved. The President said that, hope students of SUSTC kept energetic, a young heart and happy life.

The President Chen thanked all teachers on behalf of the University, regardless of teaching affairs, teachers, staff or engineers. SUSTC has many excellent professors and the most dedicated administration service staff. Each person can play its own functions at its post, and realize the greatest contribution.

Professor Duo, Department of Mathematics, titled “The top one of financial mathematics at PKU”.

Wang: “I am 70 years old, but I am a new teacher at SUSTC. I had been working for Tsinghua for 8 years, and a professor of Tsinghua University said: “serve the country for 50 years under healthy physical conditions” “SUSTC gave me the opportunity, and enable to realize my dreams”. 

Professor He Bingsheng, Department of Mathematics

He: I came from Nanjing. When I applied for college, I wished to be teacher and applied Jiangsu Normal College, the present SOOCHOW University, but I was enrolled by Nanjing University. After going abroad for studying by the State, I came back and acted as teacher. I care this opportunity. Maybe I am not the best teacher, but I like the platform. I will do the work well, and try to do the work well.” 

Huang Feiyan, Library

Huang: ”I feel that the library serves teachers and students. The books are used to bring the internationally excellent academic resources to support academic work of teachers.” 

Li Yuan Teaching Department

Li: “Today, I have a feeling of passing through the ear. I received blessing messages from different universities. I have been working as teacher for 21 years, except for working as teacher in China, I ever studies in 3 overseas universities. I am excited about the opening ceremony yesterday. The President Chen said, everyone coming to SUSTC brought their ideas. The Vice President Wu said, SUSTC would become a longing place. Why I turn from a teacher to staff?  I am in charge of teaching research, training scheme and international education. In fact, as a teacher, we are teaching students and inspire them with knowledge. I am in charge of education management, and support many teachers.”

Chen: “I hope that my students keep energetic and vitality! The newborn was energetic and vigorous, such as SUSTC. I shoulder heavy duties.

Li Guo, Enrollment Office

Li: “I ever worked at many universities in Shanghai. All teachers involving enrollment are dedicated, and support our enrollment at night and holiday. I will serve the teachers in charge of enrollment. I believe that, SUSTC will become the surveyor’s pole in terms of talent training or enrollment”.
