SUSTC Undergraduates Get Good Results in Provincial Physics Experiment & Design Competition for College Students

On November 7, the 16th Guangdong Provincial Physics Experiment & Design Competition for College Students was concluded in Jinan University. Instructed by 3 teachers in SUSTC Department of Physics, e.g., Yang Jun, Wang Cailin and Chen Ji, the project Functional Shift Experiment Plan won the first prize in the competition, with the project team members including Wei Tianzi, Li Yang, Wen Tianhao and Peng Zhiqiang. Another project New-type Light Pressure Measurement Method Using Suspension Devices, which was completed by the team of Sun Kebin, Yan Mingqi and Tang Jiayin and instructed by Wang Cailin, Yang Jun and Zhang Huan. Because of its outstanding performance, SUSTC also won the Prize for Excellent Organizing Work. 
Guangdong Provincial Physics Experiment & Design Competition for College Students, hosted by Guangdong Academy of Physics, is designed to cultivate the college students’ interest in physics and physics experiments, and improve their awareness of innovation, the ability of comprehensive use of knowledge and ability of operation. It has become a traditional competition for college students in Guangdong Province. 
In all, 540 students in 120 teams from 22 universities and colleges in Guangdong Province attended the Competition. The 2 teams organized and instructed by SUSTC Physics Teaching Laboratory presented exceptional performance and excelled in the 63 teams from more than 20 universities and colleges in the final competition , showing the great competencies of SUSTC students. This is the second time for SUSTC students to gain such wonderful results in the Competition after they won the first and second prizes in the 2014 Competition.
