On April 13, 2016 Mathematical Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) revealed the results. This is the third year for SUSTech students to achieve excellent results in the contest.

Instructed by Prof. Li Jingzhi from the mathematics department, students teamed up into 13 teams to participate the contest. 3 teams got the Meritorious Winnerthe (members include Geng Mengmeng, Zhang Siqi, Jiang Yinghao, Zhuge Huimin, Zhang Ziqi, Ling Congdui, Zhang Fang, Zhang Shimin and Li Jiayuan) , and 5 teams got the Honorable Mention (members include Wang Yihang, Huang Xueqin, Zhou Zhengcheng, Zhang Yichi, Yan Mingqi, Sun Kebin, Chen Pengcheng, Chen Wanli, Wang Shiwei, Li Yang, Zhu Junxing, Wang Xiaohan, Zhong Benxin and Wang Mengqi and Yang Zhunming). There are other 5 teams got the Successful Participant prize.

Students from all different grades are encouraged to participate in the competition and there is no limit of the number of competition team.SUSTech also provides coaching and training before the contest. It was the first time for more than half of the students to compete, but they got excellent results in the contest and ranked top among the universities.

On April 15, SUSTech Mathematical Modeling Association’s first briefing was given after long preparation, and students can join the association to have more mathematical modeling activities.
