On April 24, SUSTech team earned the Excellence Award in the 2016 HSBC Mainland China Business Case Competition（South China Section）held in Guangzhou. Instructed by Dr. Yang Xuning, the team consisting of Xie Huayang, Mo Shaozhe, Hao Yadi and Wu Guanlong from the Department of Finance made SUSTech’s first presence a great success in this best-known case competition for undergraduates in Asia-Pacific region. They were one of the 10 teams from such universities as Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Science and Technology and Jinan University.

The competition was aimed to inspiring and cultivating contestants to value issues like corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, and seeking business talents with sustainable development outlook by giving them various business cases to analyze. To solve these cases, management expertise was required. It was also a good opportunity for participants to develop comprehensive capabilities. 

During the competition, the four participants from the department of Finance at SUSTech accomplished exceptional teamwork despite a lack of previous experience and systematic training under limited time. They were highly acclaimed by their competitors for phenomenal performance. “How amazing you are! Your performance is far beyond our recognition and imagination”, they said.
