On September 8th, 2016, the freshman from 22 different provinces and autonomous regions came to SUSTech to register in and started their first class in the campus as the military training. Every freshman has their own special feelings about military life, as well as our students from Zhixin College. A recollection written by a Zhixin college student was evaluated by Youth League committee of SUSTech as the excellent writing. Also, our college student Taikang Ye won the third price in the speech contest during the military training. The youth experienced a whole upgrade mentally and physically through the 9 days of the tough but rich military training. After being exposed to the merciless sun, they learned how to face the challenge in the campus life with a high-spirited by this silent transform.

In the afternoon of Sept.12th, the speech contest with the theme of bitterness and sweetness had a great ending under the Zihe Qin and Kexin Niu’s hosting. The executive vice president of Zhiren College Chuanwen Bao, the executive vice president of Zhicheng College Hai Lan, Xuexia Lu from the student affairs department, conselor Xiafeng Peng from Zhiren College and conselor Peng Zhao form Shuli College took the chair of jury to review and assess contestants, and gave their comments on their performance in the end.

Haowen Dong wrote his impression of the military training on the basis of his personal experience:
After spending two days in the military base, I have more different feelings and sentiments than before. We are now more close with the drill master. Though he is still really strict with us in the training, he jokes with us in the spare time sometimes. This is military training, our military training, our killing military training, our suffering military training. Bianque once said, ”good medicine is bitter in the mouth.” we also extract the great spirit from the bitter military training which is being united and observing the discipline.
As a part of the second company of Zhixin, I have to take responsibility for our collective. Our drill master drilled it into us that all the people will be punished if one make a mistake. So no one want to be the sinner of the company. Everyone trains very hard, but unfortunately, we all have our merits and demerits.
There always had someone who can’t do the training well. But all of our companies didn’t blame them. Because everyone will make mistakes. We shouldn’t blame our battle companion， should forgive each others’miastakes.
Real team should faces troubles together. Well, I remember the role called Xu sanduo in Soldiers assault. He is full, and no one understand him, but he always takes the initiative to admit their mistakes, never complains when he was involved in by teammates’mistakes. These are really what we should learn.
It’s so quickly that half of the training time has gone. During these days, we grew up. And for the next days, we should not give up. We need try our best to be stronger, remove our arrogant. In this way, we can gain a belief that we can achieve our dream. Nothing can exist forever but our will and character. The glory of the great man will be remembered, the villain will be forgotten quickly. Military training is a required course of growth, training in the military training itself, so as to enable us to grow faster and better. I hope each of us can become the ideal of us, can be proud of ourselves!

September 16, 2016, after 9 days in the military training base. Finally we meet the time to test the results of training time. At 10 am, 16 students have been valiantly standing on the sidelines of the training camp for the military camp to do the final preparations for the ceremony.
Prof. Wu Chuanyue, Vice President of South University of Science and Technology, Prof. Han Wei, Deputy Director of the Preparatory Office and other professors, instructors, seven international exchange students, all the new students participated in the Camp Ceremony. With the host by student work department minister, the school Communist Youth League secretary Xue Zheng teacher, the camp ceremony went on successfully.
Nine days, nineteen companies, more than nine hundred new students spent the unforgettable days. Although the military training has ended, the university life just begins. All the new students has steadily taken the first step in university life. Let us give our wishes that in the future during the life in the university, they can step by step to be better.
