“Spirit of the Communist Party of China” Thematic Photography Exhibition held at SUSTech

On November 30, 2016, “Spirit of the Communist Party of China” Thematic Photography Exhibition was held at the first floor of the library of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Hosted by Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, the Academic Division of Marxist Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Propaganda Department of the CPC Baoan District Committee, organized by SUSTech, the exhibition ran for 10 days. Chen Yin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shenzhen Press Group and Hu Hengfang, Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily visited SUSTech and the exhibition. Chairperson of University Council Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi of SUSTech warmly received the visitors. Li Fengliang, Vice Chairperson of SUSTech; Lyu Yantao, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily and Wang Yongjie, Secretary-General and Director of the Office of General Affairs, SUSTech were present.

Guo accompanied the delegation to visit the sand table of SUSTech. She briefly introduced the construction and development of SUSTech. Chen praised the rapid development of SUSTech. Subsequently, the two sides visited the exhibition and scanned the QR code enthusiastically to join the WeChat promotion of the exhibition.

To mark the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and the sixth anniversary of SUSTech, with the attention and support of key leaders of the University Council, the Office of Public Relations, SUSTech coordinated with Shenzhen Special Zone Daily to introduce “Spirit of the Communist Party of China” Thematic Photography Exhibition to SUSTech. This was the debut of the exhibition on the campus.

The exhibition originated from a large interview campaign of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily themed “Spirit of the Communist Party of China”. The campaign lasted for nearly two months and covered over 30,000 kilometers. Over 10 journalists of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily headed to 16 Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in three groups, to report on the formation, rich connotation, inheritance and development, realistic significance and contemporary practices of the spirit of the Communist Party of China such as Red Boat Spirit, Jinggang Mountain Spirit, Soviet Area Spirit, Zhaojin Spirit, Spirit of Zunyi Meeting, Long March Spirit, Nanniwan Spirit, Yan’an Spirit, Yimeng Spirit, Xibaipo Spirit, Iron Man Spirit, Lei Feng Spirit, Jiao Yulu Spirit, Gan Zuchang Spirit, Spirit of Reform and Opening-up, Astronauts Spirit and Spirit of Earthquake Relief. The exhibition put on display a selection of over 100 outstanding photographic works taken in the interview campaign, in the hope of seeking the development context of the spirit of the Communist Party of China and feeling its tremendous power from these photos with more people.  

Exchange meeting

In the afternoon, on behalf of the exhibition production team, Ding Qinglin, a journalist from Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, held an exchange meeting with SUSTech’s teachers and students to share his creation experience.

The exhibition will run from November 30 to December 10, 2016.
