Department of Chemistry, SUSTech observes 30th Chinese Chemistry Olympiad and Winter Camp, receiving the camp flag

Recently the 30th Chinese Chemistry Olympiad Final and Winter Camp has taken place in Changsha, Hunan Province, with the participation of 340 campers, over 300 team leaders, observers and delegates from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, as well as the Macao SAR. At the invitation of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), Zhang Xumu, Chair of the Department of Chemistry, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), led a delegation to Changsha to observe the contest, and received the camp flag on behalf of SUSTech which will organize the 31st Winter Champ.

 

On November 27, the universities involved organized enrollment promotion and consultation. The teachers from the Department of Chemistry and the Office of Admission, SUSTech provided effective enrollment consultation. Some 30 outstanding students showed strong interest in SUSTech.

On November 29, the closing ceremony of the winter camp was held at the High School Attached to Hunan Normal University. At the ceremony, Yang Guoqiang, Secretary General of CCS, announced that SUSTech and the Shenzhen Society of Chemistry and Chemical Industry (SZSCCI) would organize the 31st Chinese Chemistry Olympiad Final and Winter Camp, and handed over the camp flag. Zhang presented awards to the first prize gold winners and delivered a speech on behalf of SUSTech. He introduced Shenzhen and the Department of Chemistry, SUSTech, saying that SUSTech is confident of building the next winter camp into a high-level chemical contest in association with SZSCCI under the guidance of CCS.
