SEU Prof. Xu Chunxiang gives keynote lecture on natural science fund application

The application for national science funds in 2017 is about to begin. To further advance the application work of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), on December 13, 2016, the Office of Research, SUSTech invited Prof. Xu Chunxiang, a review expert at projects supported by the National Natural Science Fund of China (NSFC) and a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars from Southeast University (SEU), gave a lecture entitled “Thought on National Natural Science Fund Application”. Gong Yi, Deputy Director of the Office of Research, presided over the lecture.

Xu led several NSFC-supported projects and acted as review experts many times. Based on his review experience, he elaborated on the positioning of NSFC-supported projects, as well as the organization, writing and review of project application letters. He systematically introduced application material preparation in such aspects as subject selection, writing methods and skills, and how to improve the quality of application letters, sharing his experience.

 

With the participation of nearly 50 researchers and research administrators from SUSTech, the lecture played a significant role in guiding SUSTech’s researchers in accurately grasping the application rules of NSFC-supported projects and improving the quality of application letters.
