On the afternoon of December 14, 2016, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held the 2017 Undergraduate Admission Mobilization Conference & Training. The conference analyzed undergraduate admission work in recent years and deployed the admission work in 2017. Chairperson Guo Yurong and President Chen Shiyi of SUSTech attended the conference and delivered speeches. Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, heads of some schools, departments and offices, as well as more than 100 enrolling teachers were present. Huang Kefu, Vice Provost of SUSTech, presided over the conference.

In his speech, Chen said that SUSTech’s admission work improved significantly in 2016 on the basis of the remarkable progress in 2015. He required that efforts should be made to give play to the demonstrative and leading role of executives in the admission work in 2017, bring forward the work focus and enroll students in a targeted manner, conduct interviews and examine comprehensive quality in a more scientific and standardized way, and implement the “international elite” program efficiently. He expected the teachers to work with full confidence and make all-out efforts to achieve a new breakthrough in the admission work in 2017.

“Undergraduate admission is a top priority of university work and good students are the basis of better talents,” said Guo in her speech. She noted that admission work should be planned elaborately and implemented vigorously; admission promotion should be standardized, effective and up to high standards; admission work should lay the foundation in the current year and aim far. She expected the teachers to try their best in admission work.

At the conference, the head of the Office of Public Relations introduced admission promotion and broadcasted promotional video; the head of the Office of Finance interpreted the admission finance system; and the head of the Office Admission elaborated on the undergraduate admission policy for 2017.
