This week the new fall semester has started and students are busy adjusting to their new environment and getting ready for their courses.

As students prepare for the fall semester, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is busy organizing various preparation tasks. Students will discover a freshly renovated campus with makeovers for the research centers, teaching buildings, student dormitories and other teaching and residential infrastructure, just one of the many changes coming to the university. Other changes include a Cultural Development Program for the Residential Colleges and Graduate School.

On August 30 2017, the university’s senior management and the heads of the departments concerned gathered to discuss and implement the preparations.

During the executive meeting, the university leaders all agreed that there was a lot of preparations to be made in terms of logistics and infrastructure for the new semester. SUSTech Council Chairperson Guo Yurong insisted that each department work hard to improve the university’s image. President Chen then took over to say that it was important for each department to monitor the quality and quantity of work that they produce, and should aim to enhance the campus safety awareness and an efficient management system so that professors and students can enjoy a safe, green and convenient learning and living environment.
