In order to raise awareness and improve understanding of the concept of rule of law for teachers and students, and comprehensively develop students’ quality education, SUSTech launched a 3-day lecture in association with the Peking University from September 27th to 29th, 2017. Associate Professor Zhang Huifeng who has been teaching for three consecutive years started by giving a talk, which was presided over by Wang Dejun, director of the SUSTech Education Center.
Zhang Huifeng has taught “undergraduate courses” for undergraduates at Peking University for many years. He was awarded the honorary titles of outstanding teacher in Beijing, special teacher of Beijing ideological and political theory course and teaching expert of Beijing ideological and political theory course.
On the topic of criminal law, Zhang Huifeng displayed impressive logical reasoning, and used wonderful expressions to capture the students attention on topics which are usually tedious and unsavoury such as legal provisions of the first part of the rule of law in ancient and modern Chinese; the second part of the lecture entitled “Understanding civil law related to you and me”, won successive waves of applause from the audience. In view of the professional orientations of SUSTech students, Professor Zhang also shared much valuable knowledge on intellectual property law.
