General Education Department director Wang Dejun led the team into the competition, and sports center teachers Wei Weicheng, Zhao Fei and Liu Jianjun coached the students, a total of 14, including 8 men and 6 women who competed in 14 individual races and 6 relays. Gao Zheming came first in the 100 meters backstroke, and third in the 50 meters backstroke, Zhang Yujie came third in the women’s 100 meters freestyle, Zhai Zhenghao came third in the men’s 100 meters butterfly, and Liao Yang Tianchun, Gao Zheming, Zhao Lida and Lin Yiyi came third for the men’s 4 × 50 m medley relay. Other results saw Zhao Lida come fourth in the men’s 100 meters breaststroke, and fifth in the 50 meters breaststroke; Liao Jiaxin, Tan Ligan, Li Zijiang, Zhai Zhenghao came fourth in the men’s 4 × 100 meters relay; Liao Jiaxin, Lin Yiyi, Gao Zheming, Zhao Lida came fourth in the men 4 × 50 meters freestyle relay; Zhang Yujie came fourth in the women’s 100 meters butterfly; Lin Yiyi came fourth in the men’s 50 meters freestyle; Zhai Zhenghao came sixth in the men’s 200 meters freestyle; Li Ziqiang came seventh in the men’s 200 meters individual medley; Zhang Yujie, Wu Di, Zheng Shu Xin, Chen Wenxuan came seventh in the women’s 4 × 50 meters freestyle relay; and Liao Jiaxin came eigth in the men’s 50 meters freestyle 8th.

The 2017 Guangdong Province Student Swimming Championship involved Sun Yat-Sen University , South China University of Technology , Guangdong University of Technology and more than 40 other regional colleges and universities with a total of 684 athletes participating in the competition.
