On July 31, Standing Member of Shenzhen Municipal Committee Tian Fu led a delegation to SUSTech. President Chen Shiyi, University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong and University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang accompanied the guests and introduced them SUSTech’s campus construction progress and research developments.

The delegation visited the 3D campus construction model and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Innovation & Research Center, while praising SUSTech’s research achievements.

The two parties sat down for a meeting, where Li Fengliang further introduced SUSTech to the delegation. Guo Yurong and Chen Shiyi thanked the Shenzhen Municipal Committee for their support, along with the support provided by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. Director of SUSTech Higher Education Research Institute Li Ming, Director of Shenzhen Qianhai Management Bureau (SQMB) Du Peng, and representatives from SQMB and SUSTech offices also attended the meeting.

The two parties also discussed their collaborative projects at the Shenzhen Qianhai Management Bureau. Chen Shiyi hoped to establish good relations with Qianhai and initiate multi-party collaborations. Tian Fu pointed out the similarities between Qianhai and SUSTech, namely their innovative systems and spirits. He believed SUSTech and Qianhai would collaborate more in the future, and also looked forward to more collaborations between SUSTech and the Shenzhen Municipal Government/Committee. Before the end of the meeting, SUSTech and the Shenzhen Municipal Committee reached agreements and laid out plans on upcoming collaborations.
