Southern University of Science and Technology was the proud host of the Asia-Europe Third-Generation Semiconductor International Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Conference. Taizhou Building was the campus site for the conference on October 25.

Mr. Cao Jianlin Deputy Director of Special Committee on science and technology, education, culture, health, and sports programs under the National Committee of the CPPCC, Dean Zhao Yuhai of the Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute and Chairman Wu Ling of the Third-Generation Semiconductor Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance join other representatives at the conference.

Cao Jianlin was joined by the head of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Commission and the head of Longhua District in delivering speeches. They also delivered the plaque for the Shenzhen Center of Asia-Europe Third Generation Semiconductor Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation. The conference then received a progress report of the Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute.

Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute is a new type of private non-profit R&D Institute with the support of Shenzhen Municipal Government, led by the Third Generation Semiconductor Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Southern University of Science and Technology, jointly built by Fudan University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other top research institutes and central enterprises at home and abroad. The main task of the research institute is to build a national-level public research and development and service platform for the third-generation semiconductors.

On October 23, the Longhua District Government and the Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement, marking the official establishment of the Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute in Longhua District’s Jinxiu Science Park.
