A delegation from Shenzhen’s Nanshan District came to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) today to talk about the SUSTech-HKUST Joint School of Microelectronics.

The delegation was led by District Mayor Zeng Pai of the Nanshan District . They were joined by senior officials from various departments across Nanshan District. The delegation was met by SUSTech President Chen Shiyi, SUSTech Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, Director of the Office of Major Projects Wang Susheng and Professor Yu Hongyu, Executive Director of the SUSTech-HKUST Joint School of Microelectronics.

Nanshan District come to talk about university-industry cooperations. The Nanshan district group was first taken to the 3D campus construction planning sand table, where they learned about the future developments for SUSTech. The deputation then sat down to discuss the on the cooperation for university-industry and education center.

Guo Yurong and Chen Shiyi both thanked the Nanshan District Government for their continued support of SUSTech. They briefed the delegation on the achievements and their plans for strategic cooperation with Nanshan District in a variety of areas.

Zeng Pai congratulated SUSTech on its achievements, and pointed out that Nanshan District is the center of scientific research and education in Shenzhen. Given that many high-tech enterprises and higher education institutions have chosen to gather in Nanshan District, he anticipated that SUSTech would take advantage of this situation and continue to cooperate for their common development goals.
